Chorus:
The scent of flowers fills the air
Like millions of blossoms in the midnight air
Could it be Maunaloa blossoms, oh so rare
Coming to caress lovers everywhere
Maunaloa how beautiful you are
Maunaloa you are my evening star
Come dance for me my beautiful flower
Maunaloa, my favorite of all
Surround me with the scent of your love
Surround me like the light from above
Come dance for me so precious and sweet
Maunaloa, you’re the one for me
Chorus:
From the mountains to the sea
I’ve searched for you so long
Then you came to me
Like the melody to a song
Maunaloa, say you will be mine
Maunaloa, let our hearts entwine
You gave to me love and aloha
Maunaloa, I give you my heart
Chorus:
From the mountains to the sea
I’ve searched for you so long
Then you came to me
Like the melody to a song
Maunaloa, say you will be mine
Maunaloa, let our hearts entwine
You gave to me love and aloha
Maunaloa, I give you my heart
Maunaloa, I give you my heart
Source – The Maunloa flower is the composer's all-time favorite flower. Tutu (his grandmother) used to have Maunaloa vines on the fence to the entrance of their hale (house). Not only were the flowers beautiful but as a child, the vines made a good saddle on a wooden fence.
