Where are you, O moon |
Source: Auntie Alice Kuʻuleialohapoinaʻole Namakelua - As the composer was driving along the Ala Wai canal on her way to the August Hula Festival, she noticed the full moon over Diamond Head and heard voices singing about the moon. She parked her car, wrote down the words and continued on to the performance. The melody stayed with her in spite of the other music being played at the festival. Finally, at 3:00 A.M. she completed this song on August 15, 1957. |
