 Refreshed is the lehua in the chill

Glorious, this home of the bird
Underwing feathers for the Royal One

As a bird strives to reach the summit
So the ʻOʻo is prized by the hunter

Feathers shimmer as sun gold on a calm sea
Equally beautiful in the gently blowing tradewinds

To love amidst the delicate soft brush of lehua
Nothing equal is known

Proclaim the mamo-feather chief
You are Kalanipoʻo, answer
